For Gravy:

Brinjals 5 to 6 (cubed)
Onions 1 (chopped)
Tomato's 2(minced)
Tamarind very small((optional)
Curd 1 1/2 cup
Drumsticks 4 to 5 pieces
Gram Flour 1 tbsp
salt to taste
turmeric 1 tsp
chilli pwd 3tsp( as required)
water (as required)

For Seasoning:
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Urad dal
Curry leaves
2 tbsp Oil
Coriander leaves (for garnishing)


  • Heat oil in a pan and do the seasoning.
  • Fry the chopped onions and green chillies until golden brown in color.Add the Drumsticks and fry for a min.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes & turmeric. Cover and cook until they are soft.
  • Add the Brinjal pieces tamarind, red chilli pwd, salt & some water. Mix well. Cover the pan & cook for 7-8 min.Add Curd,Gram Flour with water
  • Open the lid and cook for another 5 min.
  • Switch off the stove and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with chapatis or rice.
